I'm pretty certain that the second one is a yellow dung-fly - Scathophaga stercoraria. And although it's much less obviously yellow, I think the first one may well be the same. It's certainly the right shape and has the right spines on its back and legs.
We must have uploaded our unidentified flies at the same time as they are intermingled in the archive Gallery!

The second image is as everyone has confirmed the Yellow dung-fly. And I'm also inclined to agree with pressld2 on the first image, but I believe its the female of the species.
The female Yellow dung-fly is more of a greyish green colour and is less furry than the male.
