| | | Two more damsels for ID Must be birthing day in my pond, I found these two lined up ready for life above the water.
First a nymph waiting to emerge:
This one obviously got there first: |

| | | Re: Two more damsels for ID Hi pxl8, I think the second one is a female blue-tailed. I uploaded a very similar looking damselfly into the Gallery yesterday; http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga...age-10788.html
nice shots by the way.

| | | Re: Two more damsels for ID I've been keeping an eye on these two all afternoon hoping to get some shots of the 2nd emerging but in the space of 15mins it left the water, hatched and disappeared. Something tells me it met an untimely end as I didn't think they could be ready to fly that quick? |

No doubt a passing dragonfly had a good lunch.. |

Matt | I'm not surprised Matt. I've got the best book around, and it's still not easy, especially when newly hatched..Fourwings can id just about anything, I'm way behind him! |

Matt | Britain's Dragonflies. A wildguide by Dave Smallshire and Andy Swash. Steve (Fourwings) recommended it to me. It's very thorough and interesting. I got it from Amazon. (£9.99) | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
