Rove Beetle??

Hi folks,
I think this is a Rove Beetle but I'm not sure which species, it looks similar to the devils coachhorse,except that this one has a gold /bronze coloured thorax seen in the last photo of it on the handle of the outside tap, I would apreciate any help with the ID , and any pointers to shorten a search, I do know that there is three distinct body shapes to rove beetles, is that correct?
There were quite a few of them about yesterday,

There are > 1200 staphylinids in UK. There are lots of body shapes. There is no chance of identifying this (IMHO) but we might get it down to a tribe or genus if we knew how big it was ... to the nearest couple of millimetres ....

The profile picture shows a run of setae that 'might' be central on the thorax. If so then it would, given the shape and form, belong to the genus Philonthus. There are a good many of these so no chance of getting any further - even if the generic call is correct. This is not an easy group without using microscopes! Sorry I cannot be any more positive.
