Well you live in the right area for them but I am not convinced that it isn't a Common Blue. A shot of the inner wing would be more conclusive.

How do I tell the diference between the two? they both look the same

I agree with John. Marking are spot on for common blue.

Hi Sticky, it is difficilt to tell the diffrence between the two "Blues" however it is possible. the underwings of the Common Blue have clear white fringes as in your beautiful image, but the rarer Adonis and even the Chalkhill Blues are fringed with broken grey and white. Your image is superb though how did your manage that? Or were they to preoccupied doing what comes naturally!!!!

Definately the common blue I posted two a couple of days ago 1 with wings open and the same one with them closed look at mine in the Gallery

Glad you like the piccy Tornado, they were a little pre-occupied to worrey about me. The piccy needs some work done on it but I shot it in RAW so it should come out OK.

Most definately Common Blue now I've seen this shot!! Superb image!!
I have a few good shots I took in my garden last season. I'm hoping to get more this year, maybe when I figure out how to upload them they could appear in the Gallery...............Maybe!
