| | | Re: Your favourite insect Its got to be Dragonflies and Damselflies for me, I can't say I have a favorate, but if pushed I'd opt for the Four-spotted chaser, the only reason being it was one of the first Dragonflies that I was able to approach close enough to get a decent photo of, and therefor rekindled my passion for photography. |

| | | Re: Your favourite insect Hard to pick one, alot have been mentioned already. Always like the Tiger Beetle just because they're so aware of you and seem very intelligent.
Whirlygig Beetles are a favourite at the moment though.
I was helping repar a sluice gate recently and there was loads on the water whizzing around. We were there for the best of the day and they eventually became used to our movements and carried on with life as normal, (I could wave my arm about over the top of them without "setting them off") they're quite amusing to watch. |

| | | Re: Your favourite insect I have to bring up the scorpion fly.
The most perfectly ugly face in the animal kingdom and the frightening looking scorpion "sting" on the male.
They are usually happy to sit about for photography too. |

My favourite is probably the cockchafer, always scaring people and bumping into things. I also like the large hawkmoth caterpillars, devil's coachhorse and hornets.
I get the feeling I like big insects

| | | Re: Your favourite insect This year it has to be the tree wasps that nested in my garden, I enjoyed watching their building activities and they really where perfectly harmless. I hope they come back next year.
