I have noticed tawny mining bees in the garden, but I hadn't seen these before.
Cheers,

Thanks,
Rob | I have hundreds, if not thousands of these in my lawn. They appeared approximately to weeks ago, firstly I though the lawn was covered in worm casts, but it was these mining bees. They are non agressive and live quite happily alongside myself and my pets. They have made a right mess of the lawn though. It does look as if they have also taken residence in the thatch of the house, but I may be wrong, they may just be sheltering or drinking the condensation or something - maybe someone else will know what they are up to! I don't know what their lifecycle is - will they return or not next year is a mystery (this is my first year in this house so I don't know whether or not they were here last year).
