| | | which photo? Hello
I have found this wee beastie which I think is Platystoma seminationis. I was thinking of submitting a photo to the Gallery as there don't seem to be any of this fly, but want to be sure of the ID.
I do have another photo but can't get it right to upload can get the right ixel size but then it's too big to uload...so forget the original title, it's now 'Am I right on this fly?' |

Thank you
I will upload both pics to the Gallery as there are currently none and maybe the other one is better! |

If your pixel size is right but the file is too big then either the DPI or the quality setting is too high. Set the Dpi to 72, and the quality setting to the higher end of medium (7 in photoshop) and you shouldnt have any problems.
great pic by the way, love the way you have captured the shadow.
Pete

Yes, you can some great results with compacts - I have a little Canon Digital Ixus 400 which I carry around with me everywhere (my other camera is a Fuji FinePix S7000 and is a handful to lump around on a daily basis) ... I snapped the attached Demoiselle on my Canon just this week! |

| | | Re: which photo? IMO Gill, you have very little to learn about photography, every one of your pictures that I have seen is fantastic, your russian comfrey shot in the galleries is particularly spectacular - it is now on a car sticker design, but I woukd say it deserves wider publication - have you thought of submitting it to a magazine such as outdoor photography ?
Better gear might lead to better opportunties but better photos only happen through ability and you have that in spades.

Thank you that's very kind!!! I really don't think I'm good enough for that just yet - there's an awful lot of room for improvement!!! I did notice my pics in the stickers though!! ace!!!!!
Might even beat my 'courtney love sitting on me and I got in the magazines in 95'' claim to fame!! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
