Bee question
Couple of pics of an Andrena sp. miner bee .
Does anyone know what the leg spikes/spurs visible in #2 are for ?

Female Andrena flavipes.

The "spikes" on leg 1 are the antennal combs. The bee draws pollen covered antennae through them to clean them up!
