| | | Black and grey bugs? Hi!
I was wondering if anyone can help me?
I've been finding tiny black and grey bugs in my house. No bigger than a CM. The black and grey is in stripes. They have wings, but after watching one, I think they prefer to walk..very slowly.
Sadly, I can't get a photo of one, as they are SO small.
So far I've found about 10....always alone!
Thank you

| | | Re: Black and grey bugs? Hi and welcome. Can you give us a bit more of a discription to go on? Are they, beetle like, ant-like, woolly, with six legs or more?
I'm guessing that they are carpet beetle but need a tad more please. Cheers.

Er...its like a beetle. And it's got 6 legs.
What's a carpet beetle? They seem to be attracted to my windows? |

| | | Re: Black and grey bugs? They're tiny, harmless beetles to you. They like wool and organic materials to nibble. Their larvae are called 'woolly bears' and are really tiny, caterpillar like and hairy-and are also harmless to you. I suggest you just set them free outside.

| | | Re: Black and grey bugs? Carpet beetles are 2-3 mm in length. You need to get rid of the source of the infestation really. This will be initially in things like bird's nests in the eaves, old carpets in the attic etc. They like warmth and will follow routes around hot water/heating pipes etc. The larvae are difficult to kill with contact pesticides.
