Its been pointed out that it has the distinctive twin exhausts of an aphid so I will see if I can narrow down the species. |

4mm is big for an aphid though isn't it? But I can see why aphid is being discussed!
Trouble here is the 'nymphs' of so many insects are tough to find in field guides-adults fine.
I know from an entomologist friend that so many nymphs still remain a mystery.
I'd really like to know what this one is.

The larger aphids are this size - I find a few Large Willow Aphids measuring nearer 5mm. This is definitely an aphid and I have e mailed someone on an aphid watch website. |
