I pulled this litle sucka out of my inner thigh this morning

Must have climbed aboard when I was rummaging about in a Welsh field looking for Dragonflies on Thursday!

Nightmare,I always wear gaiters now when I go off the mettalled road, any grass over the top of my boots is suspect.I have had ticks and even leeches on my legs after walking through a meadow following a stream ugh!

I used to put Vick mentholated rub on them and wait,but a better method would be appreciated

Nasty little swines - I've paid host to these more times than I can remember, they are almost an occupational certainty when you grub about in long grass, reeds, undergrowth etc...
I've always found that a good way of removing them is to give them a good soaking with either Surgical spirit or Meths - that usually shifts them almost instantly.

I know that everything has it's place on this planet but can someone plese explain what the purpose is of ticks, fleas and headlice???? Perhaps then I can run to their defence like I do with most creatures.ww
