| | | Re: Insect Of The Day Well some smashing bumbles, but if you'd asked this yesterday, it would have been a couple of Green Shield Bugs that were bathing in the sunshine.
Here's one.

| | | Re: Insect Of The Day just off to play tennis but this post inspired me to rush into the garden and photograph the first insect I could find - took a dozen before I could get decent lighting by switching to my ringflash:
Beetle measuring about 2mm - any ideas? |

| | | Re: Insect Of The Day I saw a butterfly, my first this year
It was quite high up and it just looked dark brown from underneath with slightly jagged wings, it was red admiral size
Good thread Jez |

Good thread Jez | Could have also been a Peacock Mrs.Fish. Average size of both red Admiral and Peacock is 2.5 inches. Peacock having jagged wings.

| | | Insect of the Day I thought this was a good time of the year to start a "Insect of the Day" thread
I'm sure like me you would all like to share your sightings of the day
Yesterday was the first real day this year to see butterflies
I was pleased to see two little blues and a peacock
Two days on the trot I have seen 14 spot ladybirds and no harlequins | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
