A Least Carpet this morning at work, also a Red Admiral + Holly Blue there.
Getting home watching a Comma + Peacock gorging on nectar from Hemp Agrimony + watching a pair of several Gatekeepers getting passionate! |

My first Migrant Hawker(a female) of the year today.Also many Wood Crickets plus large numbers of Purple Hairstreaks,one of which was on horse dung,and several of the Hairstreaks were drinking from water lillies on a pond.  |

A Small Copper Butterfly & an Emporer Dragonfly that nearly knocked me off my feet as I stepped out the front door!

Lots of Syritta pipiens hoverflies attracted to some Fennel flowers.
Also a crab spider ( so not really insect of day)- a white Misumena vatia sitting on a scabious flower on my back step. |

The Longhorn beetle Judolia cerambyciformis ,which has a patchy distribution,right on my doorstep.I thought it was only to the east of me.
Also many White Admirals and some more Purple Hairstreaks. | | | |
