| | | Hairy Dragonfly - Brachytron pratense Hello! Anyone (Fourwings? Are you there?!) know what this is? I've looked through my book (and apologies for the blurry picture it was the last shot before my camera died and I clearly utterly and totally fouled up the point of focus...) and it looks more like a hairy dragonfly ( Brachytron pratense) than a common hawker ( Aeshna juncea) to me. but it says in my book thats the hairy one is scarce so I'm probably wrong, though it also says in my book that the flight period of the common hawker is from Late June to early October and this was taken last Tuesday.....
