today saturday feb 9,very warm, i went to town around 10 this morning with a coat with a fur ( not real i might add )collar and cuffs thinking it would be cool,wrong it was more like april in cambridgeshire not feb,just hope we dont all suffer for this later.

Yep defo gorgeous here too today. I wandered down to Ogmore estuary and thoroughly enjoyed the bright sunshine, tho I did need to keep a thin fleece on as wind a tad chilly. Got a wet bum sitting on the saltmarsh for an hour, however, saw some golden eye, greenshank, oystercatchers and redshank; got a few pics of the golden eye, however, too far for my 300mm lens really. Submitted 2 to the Gallery but doubtful quality, was being optimistic

Humble bee is just the same as bumble bee, though tends not to be used these days. What you saw were probably newly emerged queens of Bombus terrestris!
