| | Moving Pupae For ID... I found this in a friend's guinea pig hutch, moving. It was then cleaned out but was concerning for him - what would it have become?

| | | Re: Moving Pupae For ID... Its the puparia (slightly different from a true pupa) of one of the fanniidae, Or lesser houseflies. Not a danger to Guinea pigs probrably using the hutch for shelter. The larva feed on decaying organic matter and excrement. Species wise likely Fannia carnicularis due to it being very common. Although you would need a close photo to be exact on species. Hope this helps. |
