| | | Unidentified Egg mass I took this photograph in October on the leaves of Rhodedendron. It was about the size of a 10p piece. It is a jelly like substance, can't say how sticky because I left well alone but it was adhered to the leaf. I assume it contains the eggs of an insect of some kind, the tiny insect that is noticeable in the shot just happened to be flying by! Can anyone help please?
Thank you
Chas

| | | Re: Unidentified Egg mass Hi,
I followed the thread as indicated and am very pleased to be able to solve the mystery. Everything fits perfectly http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo....html#post2784 (animal? vegatable? or a childs' sweet?).
My globule was near water but not overhanging but I returned to the site recently........Kennick Reservoir...... on the edge of Dartmoor and it is now flooded, you need to read the other thread to make sense of this. So it is an egg mass from the Cadis Fly Glyphotaelius pellucidus. I would never have thought of this as an idea so thank you very much for the help.
