| | | Green shield bug question. Last week I found this Green Shield Bug in North Wales
I've since read that they turn brown in the Autumn before hiding away for the winter. As you can see mine is still pretty much Green so I was wondering if anyone knew of the information to be correct ? |

| | | Re: Green shield bug question. Hi Demicav,
I've read that they turn bronze as well. The only thing I can add is that your photograph shows a few darkening patches that are often 'greener' - mainly around the edges.
It's been such a crazy year - so many species are behaving oddly.
Hope this helps,
Steven. |

| | | Re: Green shield bug question. They can go brown though I'm not sure that they all do. Some may just become a darker green.
Here's one from the Gallery. (not mine)
Ashe
PS the legs have changed colour too.

| | | Re: Green shield bug question. Yes its very individual, some go brown, bronze/red some stay green. It does happen with several shieldbug species. |

| | | Re: Green shield bug question. The ones that turn brown also can do so rapidly, over the space of a few days. It may be triggered by the temperature drop, so perhaps they're a bit late this year. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
