| |  does anyone know what this insect is?
hi i found an insect flying round my house (north yorkshire) it is roughly 3cm long and has a kite shaped body it has antenea and 6 legs, it is green coloured with black wings that look like a y shape on its back when closed. its body is shiny??? someone please help me!!!

i was hoping to get one this morn as i managed to capture it(took some doin!) but my caring fiance decided to set it free when he came in from work |

Is it possible to draw us the shape. Alternatively have a look at the insects in the Gallery so that you might hit on the family at least. When you say kite-shaped, it's it vaguely shield shaped? If so look at the shield-bugs, although it would be going some to find one 3cm long.
Work out what it is not i.e. butterfly, moth etc, then whittle down to a group.
