| | red admirals in the summer there were lots of peacock butterflys whites and blues on my budlia, no red admirals,i was beginning to think that another one was on its way out,then hey prestoe this morning 17th october i saw loads in my garden,i have a big ivy climbing my fence and its gone into bloom,well the admirals were going mad for it,i checked the ivy two or three times today and every time i looked there was at least seven or eight on the flowers,no other butterfly about they are late this year,will they make it through the winter as its gone colder these last twenty four hours,i will check again tomorrow with my camera so i can show you all. |

| | | Re: red admirals Yes, Ivy is a magnet to Red Admirals at this time of year. I've also seen Comma visit the flowers as well as many bees, wasps, flies + if you go out on warm evenings with a torch, quite a few moths also visit it. |

| | | Re: red admirals I just started a thread yesterday to comment on the same thing. I saw no Red Admirals all Summer then yesterday I saw one just out of the blue near my childrens school. They're such a beautiful butterfly. |
