Observed my Andrena cineraria flying for the first time this year today.http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...ons/icon14.gif I'm also looking out for oil beetles as I heard on Radio 4 this week that part of the life cycle of this increasingly rare species involves hitching a ride on mining beeshttp://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif. I seem to have many more of these Andrena cineraria this year than I've had in previous years. Also, there was a foxy red coloured bee wth them which I think might be the Tawny Mining Bee. Alsoi, there were several of what I thought were wasps, but reading tristanba's post, I wonder whether they're the parasitic Nomada bees. I dids see them going into the Andrena's holes. Interesting!
