| | | Small Fly and Lavae ID The first picture is of a small fly found in my garden today...I took a picture as I noticed it had a sting protruding from its rear.
This was found on nettles in the wildlife area of my garden....I think it is some kind of lavae but could be very wrong! There are tons of them on the nettles at the moment. |

| | | Re: Small Fly and Lavae ID The first is some sort of ichneumon rather than a fly(a nightmare to try to ID further, but I'm sure someone will!). The other is a ladybird pupa, and it looks to me like a harlequin (but not 100% sure). |

| | | Re: Small Fly and Lavae ID If there are hundreds, then I hate to say it, but it probably is... I haven't seen big populations of any other ladybird except the 24-spot this year. |

| | | Re: Small Fly and Lavae ID Yeah I reported them both and they asked me to send photo's soon after I recorded the stage the little git's were at!
By the way just caught my first moth in my makeshift trap!
Cheers Jacob |
