| | | Two beetles for ID I saw the following beetles at Messingham Sand Quarry, Lincs, a couple of days ago.
I think the first might be a female Stictoleptura rubra, but I'm by no means sure. I have no idea about the second (but love the shape of it!). |

I'm thinking now that the first is Leptura rubra - I got the Stictoleptura rubra from a similar image in the Gallery. Are these different beetles, or different names for the same one? |

The IDs on number two are correct but I am not sure about number one. Have you got a picture from above? And what about the size - how big?
