This landed in my living room in London a couple of weeks ago. It had a very stiff black sharp sting about 3/4 of an inch long. Any clues as to what it is please. I shooooooed it away. Ta Burt

Looks like a type of ichneumon wasp, the sting is probrably just an ovipositor. |

Rather indistinct photograph, difficult to see clearly, but could be one of many varieties of Ichneumon wasp, or even a sawfly. Doesn't look harmful, hope you shoo'd him gently. |
