it was like this photo, i just had to get it out my room in a glass, and he was waving his bum about which looked like he was trying to sting me, as he had a thin point and the end of his body, is he dangerous i.e can sting???   |

my guess is it could be a Hanging Fly 'Bittacus Tipularius' Mecoptera order? I'm trying to ident myself a fly not too disimiliar to the one in your photo, it's Driving me Mad |
