Taken at Blean woods - is it a male common darter

this guy looks like a robberfly but cant find the species

If it was on a dune then that robber fly is probably Philonicus albiceps

All 3 Darter shots look like commons to me, the cream stripes of the legs ( in the first 2 shots at least) give it away.Hard to tell from the small pics but 1 could be a very mature female which can show a lot of red on the abdomen. Shot 2 looks like a female to me, and shot 3 a mature male.I`m still learning though with Id`ing these so I`m prepared to stand corrected.No idea on the Robberfly unfortunately.

The robberfly was at Darland banks, which more of a chalky inland area than sand dunes - i should have said that to start with! lol
