Cheers neil, when i first took the photo i thought there was a couple of species, then i found out there were alot so i couldnt decide which one. Is this a common species? their seem to be alot of them at the moment in my patch, these are predatory flies what is their main prey? |

Hi
it is relatively common in open scrubby heath & grassland type habitats.It's main prey are flies.
