| | | Large Wasp
Was found on the edge of a patch of mature oak woodland, with lots of dead wood, but not far from mixed and coniferous woodland and pastoral farmland. large size about 3 1/2 - 4cm. Common for this group it didn't hang around long and moved around rapidly hence the poor photo. I regularly find Urocerus gigas in the same area although it is not one of these is it a relative?

A relative to Uroacera gigas only in so far as it's a hymenopteran. This is one of the Ichneumonid wasps rather than a sawfly |

| | | Re: Large Wasp yes Diphyus amatorius is very similar to Amblyteles armatorius but the slight differences make me think Diphyus amatorius slight differences in the color on the abdomen and legs. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
