| | | Which white tailed bee???? I took these pictures yesterday of a white tailed bee.
Now I have looked through the Gallery to try and identify it but have become a bit confused as to whether it could be a buff tailed bumble "Bombus terrestrisor" or a white tailed bumble "Bombus lucorum" as it was hard to tell the difference in the photos
But then again I am probably wrong and it is neither of the above
Can anybody help

| | | Re: Which white tailed bee???? I'm not really sure because I'm not very good on bee ids, but I think that it is another species because of the yellow hair on the head. Maybe Bombus hortorum?
Best wait for Eucera!

But as you say let's wait for Stuart "Eucera" to tell us the right answer |

| | | Re: Which white tailed bee???? Aale bumble with yellow facial hair and a white tail.... suggests Bombus lucorum.
Males of B. terrestris and B. hortorum have faces with black hairs. B. lucorum males always seem rather more "rounded" than the other two as well, and certainly a lot more yellow generally |
