Saw several of these today in South West Scotland. Small skippers have recently colonized this area but I'm not certain of the species. The antenae were orange with black tips.

Can't really see any diagnostic feature in top photo. If it had been a male the shape of the scent mark would have enabled ID.
Second photo seems to show black tips to antennae which would suggest Essex, but I wasn't aware they had spread to Scotland; certainly not shown there in the Millenium Atlas, but many insects have been spreading quite rapidly north +westwards, so not impossible! |

I'd say Small Skippers. There seems to be a bit of colour on the underside of the antenna in the 2nd picture, an Essex should show pure black.
