Been bitten many a time and have the wound on my hand as I type. Had a good trawl around t'internet this morning and found it (after seeing your post).

I haven't been bitten by any for a while now, although the season isn't over yet!

Well spotted Dr Gonzo! I have four red lumps on my shoulder where one of these bit me last night. I only felt the last one and was rather surprised to see this little blighter. At least now I know!

These are truly horrible insects. The bites swell and itch for days with me. The marks left are visible weeks later. They don't seemed to be detered by the insect repellents I use. And they find you without warning and you can hardly feel them until it's too late.
