| | | Two beetles Hi I photographed these two similar looking beetles during the last couple of months. First is from Dyserth in Wales. Second was on bracken at Hutton Roof Crags in Cumbria. anyone know their identity? Thanks |

| | | Re: Two beetles First one looks like a catopid (lots of them and they all look the same). The second one looks like Dascillus cervinus (Family Dascillidae).

| | | Re: Two beetles Hi Paul, yeah its cold an' grim up north  I certainly don't recall any orchids close by. I photographed this at Hutton Roof Crags, South Cumbria. It was climbing up a bracken stem before posing nicely on a frond. Surrounding vegtation was gorse, bracken few Hawthorn bushes before the path moved out into a meadow area with Wild Thyme, Heath Bedstraw, Tormentil closer to the limestone pavement.
