Pop a cow pat on the skateboard and I'm sure all the bugs will go for that rather than you...

Make sure the bottle states clearly that the oil is PURE. If it has the latin for Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Globulus) and Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) on the label, then so much the better .

| | | Re: insect repellent Try garlic, generally start 3 months before you plan on being out.
(you can either eat it in cooking or take it raw with water, or tablet form)
It takes a while to get into your system, once it there just keep eating it in meals, you don't have to top it up in the field as it comes out in your sweat.
Or you could just rub it on your skin, a bit whiffy but better than bites!
You might repel people too

| | | Re: insect repellent I read in the Metro the other day that some mosquitoes are becoming immune to DEET - as a result of it being splashed around everywhere rather than confined to areas of serious threat. I haven't been able to find any other reference - anyone know anything? |

| | | Re: insect repellent I go to the forest once a week as part of my job and for the last two weeks my head has been covered in midge bites (and I mean covered .) I have used antihistamines but I need something that I can spray on my hair to deter these midges.
Funny thing is I don't get bitten anywhere else. Maybe it's my shampoo that attracts them. |
