| | | Re: insect repellent i'm convinced that there is no 100% way to keep midges and clegs . dependant on what i'm doing i usully just suffer them . can't use chemical stuff if i'm fishing or climbing ,it can damage the equipment . but suffer in silence ,never . many folk come up to me and ask about the song" goawayyounastylittleblighters" (cleaned up version ) i was singing at the top of my voice. ouch!

| | | Re: insect repellent If you want an entirely natural insect repellent, and one thats been proven for decades and decades, then cover yourself in bunches of Yellow Loosestrife flowers (bright yellow flowers growing alongside river banks etc... right now), and to make it even better - burn the loosestrife whilst wearing it!
Probably not that helpful, eh?
Particularly if you are trying to stay hidden from any wildlife!
But it would work!

still thanks everyone for the suggestions. i'll let you know how i get on....
