1. found near a playing field and area of meadow very small about 3.5-4mm
2. very sorry about the image quality of this shot, the new camera is on its way , this was found in a large group on the edge of a woodland clearing in a meadow type area, although the picture does not show it, it had abit of a red tint to it was about 4-5mm in size.
3. I belive this is a species of wevil although dont know which, found on a dock leaf in an area of meadow
4. Found in my garden, between stacked flagstones, another small beetle about 3-4mm
5. small beetle found on a window ledge last night, about 5-6mm
6. out of all of the species here this one i expect to get an I.D for, at first i thought it was wevil but unsure now, found in my garden, larger than the others about 1cm
thankyou all for any help you can give me |

| | | Re: Identity parade I think No 6 is a Vine weevil, but I am ready to be corrected.
I don’t think No 2 are beetles, but may be nymphs of one of the Shieldbugs. |

| | | Re: Identity parade Cheers so far,
But is everyone sure number 6 is Otiorhynchus sulcatus ? because to me it looks distinctivly different. Seems to have a different shaped face & different textured thorax |

| | | Re: Identity parade 1 is a nitidulid c/f Omosita.
2 shows heteropteran nymphs.
3 is a species of 'Apion'. This former genus is now split into many.
4 looks like a species of Barypeithes (a weevil).
5 is a species of ptinid i.e. Ptinus.
6 looks like a species of Strophosoma. |
