| | | Segestria Florentina I had positive i d on one of these fascinating spiders last year. I live near a port- a place where they were first imported from the Med. Anyone else seen one? Scary and beautiful all in one. ww |

I saw one here.
They look like a big old unit. I am afarid I would not be anywhere near this. I cannot handle spiders at all. Probably my biggest phobia

| | | Re: Segestria Florentina Jaws that glow in the dark!!!!!!!!!!! sounds like something out of a horror film.
I have no fear at all when it comes to arachnids but I must admit I wouldn't fancy handling one of these, they don't look too friendly! |

| | | Re: Segestria Florentina Friendly they are not. The big female I caught,(it was in a kiddies play area) was taken to a vet to see if we get some i d. It filled the bottom of a jam jar, looking at me with its 6 eyes, as we travelled along in my car and I'm sure it was thinking to itself..If we crash and I get out of this jar, I'm gonna bite your bum, wrap you up, drag you down and almighty tube web, wait until you're soup then suck up your mushiness with a straw! The reason I took it to the vet was because we thought it may have arrived on fruit delivered to the children. The Natural History Museum eventually i d'd it. Hope they let it go and didn't pickle it. Poor thing. If you do get to see one though, they're wicked!ww |

| | | Re: Segestria Florentina North Kent. Near the Thames. Plenty of ports and jettys. They like old bricks walls to make their tube webs. Thanks for picture posts everyone. I'm no good at getting info onto pcs unless my kids are home. ww | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
