Excellent images Steve of a beautiful and rare butterfly.

You beat me to it .... I visited an Essex site on 1st June and having been away on holiday I have only just got round to uploading my own photos.

I missed the narrow window when the Heath Fritillaries were on the wing last year so I was very pleased to catch up with a mating pair this year.

And agree it's a stunning butterfly to eventually see

I have been looking for these for a few years now and when I took these shots the were approx 30 or so either emerging ,flying or mating!
I couldnt believe my luck
