| | | Re: ??? carpet Just as an aside the excellent Townsend/Waring/Lewington moth guide has just arrived in concise, ring-bound form with an abbreviated text facing the drawings of the moths, which makes it a lot easier to use in the field + lighter in the rucksack! Mine arrived in the post yesterday. |

How much was it? | I would say a lot lighter- 160 pages + price on cover says £12.95, but I think I got it cheaper as I took advantage of pre-publication offer from British Wildlife. |

| | | Re: ??? carpet This is a rather faded Yellow-barred Brindle Acasis viretata. They often seem to go like this towards the end of their flight period, and often cause ID problems! We caught an even more faded one the other night at Ketton Quarry in Rutland, which prompted a bit of discussion before we realised what it was. When fresh, they're a stunning bright green colour (despite the name).
