I am fairly certain that this is the casing left by an emergant dragonfly but does anyone know which one. I found it at Stover Country Park in Devon attached to a stem growing out of the water. The park has a large lake and this was in the margins. The only dragonflies I have seen at the lake this year are 4 Spot Chasers and Broad Bodied Chasers although I know that other species are present

Can you post a shot from above? Emperor's have the eyes running parallel across the head, hawkers' slope inwards. The mask looks too long for emperor, but it might be the angle. | | |
