| | | Some kind of bug, but what? Can someone ID this please? It is obviously some kind of bug but I'm wondering if it is mature or a juvenile. It had variously coloured metallic sheens at different angles. Body length circa 6mm. Perhaps Bronze shield bug - Eysarcoris fabricii? |

Looks like the woundwort bug Eysarcoris fabricii - mature.
Was it on woundwort, perchance? |

Sorry, I didn't mean to post twice - just after I submitted I realised that I hadn't attached the picture tag, then tried to stop the post and amend the error but as I am still on dial-up things don't refresh that quickly. Anyway a bit messy but to answer the question re the host plant species, it is a large-leaved perennial sunflower, (basal leaves 50x25 cm. flowers insignificant).
