Ladybird pupa?

Is this the Pupa from a 7 spot ladybird please? The colouring looks slightly different than the one Linda posted of a cream streaked ladybird. It was sort of flipping its back end up at intervals.

I'll stick my neck out and say I think it is a seven spot, on the grounds that it looks just like the ones on my wall that were positively identified by Paul M. It also keys out as a seven spot on the web-based key I use, but I'm not ultra-confident about the accuracy of that.

It looks like a 7-spot pupa I found last year and kept until the ladybird emerged.
I've noticed that pupae sometimes stand up if they are disturbed.

It's as likely as anything! Some pupae are very distinctive but some less so - 7-spot most likely.
Yes the twitching motion when approached is thought to deter some predators but especially parasitoid flies and wasps - it stops them from ovipositing ....
