| | | re: Do ladybirds bite? As promised - not very good (old) picture of hundreds of ladybirds drowning in the sea. Dead ladybirds all along the beach in a band about half a metre wide. All seem to have been 7-spots. |

| | | Re: Do ladybirds bite? Ladybirds do bite, sometimes they are just inquisitive of what something tastes like. I had rescued a ladybird from the middle of a puddle and it crawled along my arm and then waited to dry off so I left it where it was. 5 minutes later I felt a sharp pain in my arm so I flicked the ladybird off my arm to find that it had bitten me and was drinking my blood.
I think the species that bit you wasn't native, possibly a harlequin. |
