| | | Re: ID on beetle please. It looks like a species of Soldier Beetle. The commonest seems to be Rhagonycha fulva, there are hundreds of them around where I live in the summer.

| | | Re: ID on beetle please. From reading up in my book and looking at your photo, the beetle doesn't appear to have black tips on the elytra which apparently is a characteristic of Cantharis livida.
As jezlee says, best to wait for a beetle expert.
