| | | Dock bug? Can anyone tell me if this is a Dock bug please. This is the closest to ID-ing I can get using the Gallery, but those ones seem to have a bit of a skirt /frill effect.
I found it this morning in the ivy sun bathing. There is no dock in the garden if this is relevent. It was about 2cm, but had gone time I went back with a tape measure.
Is it a type of shield bug or sloe bug (whats the difference?) and also what will it eat, will it go after my ladybird aphids which will be hatching any time now (they are already green/grey).
Thank you |

Ashe | It's got the shape of a Box bug, but the colouration is confusing. As you're in Holland Goosey, I suppose it's possible that it's a specific Dutch species or European bar Britain

Ashe | Thanks Ashe, I think you are right, I just needed name and a place to start. There was a photo of one (I would say exactly the same) on a German site. So I am confident we have the right one - thanks again | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
