Holly blue
I had a holly blue in the garden today. It seems quite early to me, anyone else seen one this year?

Holly blues have two broods. One this time of year and the second mid-July to late August so it's not unusual to see them about in April.Our HB's arrived from a second brood last year. Gorgeous butterflies aren't they, but they don't open up their wings very often when they settle-which can be very frustrating!

I saw quite a few today on the coastal footpath at Lake nr Sandown I.o.W

I saw a holley blue in my garden today.I have never seen one in my garden before.Unfortunately it flew past and didnt land I would have loved to get a photo

I saw my first (+only so far) of year last Monday in a Fulham park. They breed in my garden, so maybe will see them this week.
