I thought you might like to see a couple of pics of a bee-fly that I took today (plus I thought it a good idea to post the real bee-fly after my recent embarassment of wrongly IDing my solitary bee shot and posting it on here  )

Lovely photos Linda- just by coincidence I saw my first of the year today in my garden- it was lapping it up on a Lesser Celandine flower. |

Hi Linda, your stunning piccies of this beefly prompted me to look in your galleries only to discover many more stunning piccies, WOW! I just bought a 350D myself so maybe you could give a newb some tips

Superb shots Linda.  I saw loads of these yesterday, fascinating insects, especially when the Female is hovering over sandy ground, dipping her abdomen to oviposit. |

Hi Everyone!.I'm on the north suffolk coast.I have just been in my garden and spotted a bee fly on my jeans.I have never seen or heard of one before today!. |
