I need a positive ID please
I have a Hover Fly in the forum which I named after looking through my books.Wild Woman thinks my name for it is wrong and Bugbotherer has given another different ID .So here it is hoping someone can agree on what it is so I can change my file name

I think Eristalis pertinax as front tarsus appears orange/pale, abdomen appears somewhat tapered + this species often has a wing shade. Eristalis spp are very variable in markings.

I'm not sure what WildWoman + Bugbotherer have ID'ed it as , so don't know if we agree or not?

WW's is Eristalis pertinax

Bugbotherer is Eristalis tenax

Right lets see if anyone else has any comments on Id and see which gets the largest vote

2 for Eristalis pertinax
1 for Eristalis tenax
