| | | Little bug called Buba Dubi Hello people,
I have a bug
For two days now it is in my room, walking around, following me It's very small and likes to hang out under the table lamp which is not on the table, it's next to my bed. So I think it also likes to spend time there because she is next to me. I've become attached to this little cutie and I'm worried about her little life.
I believe that it's a she and I call her Buba Dubi.
Buba Dubi came to me for a reason and I can't just throw her out the window.
How can I help her? I don't even know what species she is.
Here is a picture of her, maybe you will know Buba Dubi reading a magazine
Thanks in advance |

Hi Kukica, I'd be more worried about sleeping with my mouth open if I were you
I think westlothian is spot on, you wouldn't want to deprive Buba Dubi of food and friends would you. |

I think s/he'd be happier outside too. Maybe Buba Dubi came to you so you can venture out into the garden and discover other things? Find an nice leafy patch for her and see what else you can discover while you're down there.
I have a great insect ID book - 'Complete British Insects' by Michael Chinery, it's published by Collins and the ISBN number is 0007179669.
Happy Bug Hunting!

"Dubi" is a verb and it means "to deepen", for example - to scoop out the seeds and scrape the insides of a pumpkin, making it hollow...
So Buba Dubi is a little bug that made a hole in my heart because she left me.
That's why I came back here...To inform you that Buba Dubi is no longer with me. She disappeared one day.. Didn't even say goodbye. I don't know where she is, or whether she is alive.. I don't think bugs live very long.
But if you see her somewhere, or some of her relatives, please let me know and tell them that I miss her and I'll never forget her ! |

| | | Re: Little bug called Buba Dubi Aww, sweet story, Kukica!! I take it you're maybe in Croatia?? Sorry if not, but from her name
I originally thought it was a domestic beetle, so I did an English-translated search from your native Google - and came across a beetle matching your I'd say 95%. It's therefor a Black Carpet Beetle, Attagenus sp.
I'm sure you'll see him again!!
Take care,
Jason |

| | | Re: Little bug called Buba Dubi I don't think we can be sure of anything from this photo but my first impression was of a water beetle - especially if it is relatively large.
Whatever it is, it will be best placed outside in a sheltered place. |

now look at a picture above, they are identical. I'm 100% sure that buba dubi is a black carpet beetle. Buba Dubi is not large. It's very small.
Adults: Dark brown or black adults are oval shaped and 1/8 to 3/16 inch in length. This stage feeds outdoors on pollen and nectar, migrating indoors to lay eggs about a week after emergence. Adults can live nine months to three years depending on food availability and other environmental factors.
