Just found you all..........

Hi Peeps............I have just come across this site and decided to sign up straight away, because its all about what I enjoy........Wildlife.
I really enjoy going round my local nature reserve with my boy, trying to identify everything we come across. We were involved with a reptile survey last year and also constant bird surveying. I am hoping to do the plant surveying this year as I know more about plants than anything else.
I work as a builder doing external work as I love being outdoors (even this time of year). I am also into bushcraft as well.................Jon

And how good it is to hear that your boy enjoys the great outdoors and learning about British wildlife too. We look forward to hearing the results of some of those surveys. Welcome.

Thanks Tinkerbell...........Found loads of slowworms, quite a few Common Lizards and Grass Snakes, but no Adders (shame)
Results of one of the sheets lifted..........

Not sure on numbers now as our survey sheet was handed in november last year.
As for the birds........We usually do a survey most sunday mornings and our list gets handed in straight away, 33 different species is our best and recently spotted Brambling (mr & mrs), water rail, reed bunting (mr & mrs), bullfinch, etc....................Jon

Re: Just found you all..........

Where do you frequent Jon?

Southwater or Warnham parks.

I like Warnham but don't get there to often.

I assume you have wandered around Buchan Park as its not to far from you.

Re: Just found you all..........

Hi Jon and a warm welcome to the forum.

It's good to see a parent bringing his child up learning the values of our countryside and the wildlife it contains.

I hope you enjoy the site. You should be in a position to contribute both as yourself and through your son's eyes.
