Hello from the sunny East Midlands

Bright, sunny day but snow threatened (I can't believe that!). Lots of birds - rooks, jackdaws and pigeons nesting. Primroses in flower but not much activity from hedgerows - blackthorn and hawthorn still very dull ... So, is summer coming or are we getting back to winter?

Hi Joan, it's feeling a bit nippy here but the garden is telling me it's spring we've just been so spoilt not having a proper winter and I suppose it will come at a cost We are a friendly bunch and what ever the weather is upto you can rely on the people here at WAB to make you smile Welcome.

Re: Hello from the sunny East Midlands

Hi Joan,

A warm welcome to WAB, we have escaped the snow and rain at the moment but the wind is back in force, the birds are very quiet here this morning - it is usually a fight for the feeders at sun up. Perhaps they do know more than we think.

Carol.

Re: Hello from the sunny East Midlands

Hello there Joan
Welcome from me too!
It is a beautiful day here in Cumbria....blue skies....sun....no gale force winds....but absolutely freezing!!
So I'm sat inside, by the fire, catching up on the WAB (one of my favourite things to do!) And apparently it's the first day of spring too!!
Anyway, join in and enjoy yourself here!!

Re: Hello from the sunny East Midlands

Welcome, Joan. Hope you enjoy WAB.

If we're weather reporting, it's spring again here in Hertfordshire after two freezing days and nights. I've been sitting in the garden with my lunch (with a jumper on). The aubretia is already flowering - earliest I've ever seen it here.

Re: Hello from the sunny East Midlands

Wasn't sunny in the EM when I passed through last weekend but have had a couple of sunny but very cold days in S Yorks. I think the last several days have been colder than any time during February? Had several snow/hail/sheet showers but still the frogs managed to lay some spawn.
